Happy 4th Birthday G!

(Disclaimer: I know I'm 2 weeks late. whatev. I've been busy nursing a sick child and growing another one)

Dear G,

Today you turned 4! Oh what a year age 3 has been! It started off very bumpy, but ended a little smoother as your 3 year old emotions settled down. You are such a great kid! You are smart, inquisitive, handsome, charming, sweet, loving and funny. You love to snuggle with Mommy in bed, you love going to hockey games and baseball games with your Da, you love school, your friends, the beach and school. This year you started a new school and are learning so much, Mommy and Daddy couldn't be more proud of you!

Your absolute favorite thing? TRAINS. You live for trains. Thomas, Chuggington, Japanese high speed, the santa fe, the mag lev. You know more about trains than any other 4 year old boy. You don't just play with trains, you really study and learn all about them. Daddy and I think you are going to be an engineer one day because you are so interested in how things work and cause and effect. You've ridden more trains that I can count!

Your favorite foods are dino nuggets, pirates booty, Pizza, any kind of berry, pineapple, grapes and ice cream. Veggies are still a no go, but you are a pretty good eater so we are hoping they will come in time.

This year you discovered your love of the beach at surfrider, our summer happy place! You also traveled to washington DC, London and Paris. You were such a great little jet setter, you loved the plane and loved the Eurostar between Paris and London. You met your new cousin Brian and had so much fun with cousin Sydney. You are a lucky boy to have so many cousins to play with and so many friends!

You are also completely in love with Ralphie, Mommom's dog. You get so sad when Mommom comes to visit and doesn't bring Ralphie. You are a very caring and nurturing boy.

Here's hoping Age 4 is a great year G! Its going to bring some BIG changes for you, but you are an awesome kid and I know you can handle it and will be great.

Love,
Mommy

99 problems and a train ain't one

So earlier today, Daddy took G to a local hobby shop to kill some time. While there, he saw a brand new batch of Chuggington trains and spotted Emery, his "favorite train ever". So because Daddy didn't want to be the bad guy, Mommy got a phone call from there. It went something like this:
G: "Mommy they have emery can i get it?"
M: "G, we have gift cards to the toy store from your birthday. lets check their first to see if they have it so we can use your gift cards."
G: "But I want it"
M: "Ok we will find it but lets shop around first"

so they come home and my darling boy proceeds to have a huge meltdown because to him, I might as well have said No, and he knew he got cash for his birthday so he thought we should just use that. (oh clever boy). So a little while later, we ventured out to the toy store for whom Mommy had coupons and gift cards. Did they have it? Of course not!

so back we go to the Hobby Shop. As we are pulling into the parking lot, we hear this voice in the back seat "You see Mommy, this is where my problem started...". My husband and I were hysterical! Oh to be 4 and have such problems!!! Of course he got the train and was happy as could be for like 20 minutes until he decided us going out to eat was an injustice. Oh to be 4.

Is it terrible?

That one year later and I still haven't done any of this

My poor kid is 3 and has no baby book. Not even a photo album. We have taken a ton of pictures but they are all sitting on shutterfly, waiting for me to finally make some photo books.

This year, I promise!!
